Winter Wreath

I was feeling the purple this year, or more like, I was feeling the plum – something regal and a change from the usual red.  So with visions of sugarplums dancing through my head, I attached a few plum christmas-tree bulbs to my fresh balsam wreath.  I then added some gold to bring some warmth, sparkle, and festive cheer to my front door.  The fresh dusting of snow just adds to its seasonal charm.

A few pictures from the yard this past week.  I’ll admit the owl gave me a bit of a scare.  Usually when I see the owl, it is hanging out on a tree branch a good 8 feet off the ground.  This time I turned around and it was just sitting there on a downed branch, a couple of feet away, staring at me.  I jumped, took a step back, and pulled out my camera.
