Irish Crochet: 4th Leaf

Materials:

  • Yarn (Lace (0) weight)
  • Cotton Cord
  • U.S. size 7 (1.65 mm) Crochet Hook

Instructions:

  1. Over a single cord foundation: Sc 12.
  2. Ch 1 to turn.
  3. Return over the cord: Sc 10, hooking into both horizontal loops of each St, leaving the last 2 St open.
  4. Ch 1 to turn.
  5. Over the cord foundation and into the previous Row: Sc 5.
  6. Over the cord foundation and free of the previous Row: Sc 9.
  7. Ch 1 to turn.
  8. Return over the cord: Sc 12, hooking into both horizontal loops of each St, leaving the last 2 St open.
  9. Ch 1 to turn.
  10. Over the cord and into the previous Row: Sc 6.
  11. Over the cord and free of the previous Row: Sc 9.
  12. Ch 1 to turn.
  13. Return over the cord: Sc 15, hooking into both horizontal loops of each St.
  14. Ch 1 to turn.
  15. Over the cord and into the previous Row: Sc 6.
  16. Over the cord and free of the previous Row: Sc 6.
  17. Ch 1 to turn.
  18. Return over the cord: Sc 12, hooking into both horizontal loops of each St.
  19. Tr 1 into the 1st open St of the 2nd leaf segment.
  20. Over the cord Sc 1 into the 2nd open St of the 2nd leaf segment.
  21. Ch 1 to turn.
  22. Over the cord and into the previous Row: Sc 5.
  23. Over the cord snd free of the previous Row: Sc 5.
  24. Ch 1 to turn.
  25. Return over the cord: 10 Sc, hooking into both horizontal loops of each St.
  26. Tr 1 into the 1st open St of the 1st leaf segment.
  27. Over the cord Sc 1 into the 2nd open St of the 1st leaf segment.
  28. Ch 4.
  29. Sl St the end of the chain of 4 into the base of the 3rd leaf segment.
  30. Ch 1 to turn.
  31. Crochet back over the chain of 4 with: Sc 7.
  32. Returning to the base of the leaf either fasten the leaf off or continue on to crochet the stem.
